It favours approaches that work and bring benefits rather than relying solely on theories. In philosophy, pragmatism understands truth and knowledge on the basis of their practical applicability.<\/p>\n<p>When applied to the professionalisation of conflict mediation, pragmatism means that effective and practical strategies for resolving conflicts are preferred rather than relying first and foremost on theories of conflict resolution. Conflict mediators are well advised to act pragmatically and apply strategies that work in practice and thus lead to positive results.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, the pragmatic philosophy could encourage conflict mediation work to explore and implement new techniques and approaches that may prove useful, even if they do not conform to traditional ideas. This is because pragmatism emphasises the importance of constantly adapting and improving strategies based on their actual results in practice.
